Equity and Inclusion

This content serves a diverse range of student abilities and identities by using inclusive language in the learning activities, and ensures all students are represented respectfully and in ways that affirm their identities and lived experiences. Learning activities support and embrace all elements of equity and human rights, including ancestry, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical or intellectual ability, and learning styles.

In some learning activities, there are scenarios where pronouns are included; there will also be occasions when pronouns are not mentioned. This practice supports the inclusion of all individuals regardless of their gender identity and/or expression. Committing to such practice can contribute to a safer, inclusive, and welcoming learning experience for all.

By designing the content using inclusive and respectful practices, teachers can ensure that all students have the opportunity to realize their full potential and create conditions that enhance student achievement and well-being.
